New Coffee Roasts at Take Five Café: Rocket Fuel

As the spring season is almost upon us, at Take Five Café we’re pleased to introduce a new coffee roast to help celebrate the soon-to-be sunny days.

We wanted to introduce something a bit different, a very dark roast coffee that really resonates with an earthy and smoky undertone. After some careful (and enjoyable) taste tests, we’ve decided our newest coffee roast will be Rocket Fuel.

New Coffee Roasts at Take Five Café:
Terra Firma

At Take Five Café, we take coffee seriously. This fall, we’re introducing a new coffee roast to our drip coffee offerings – the Terra Firma. It’s a slightly darker roast, perfect for those November mornings where rain seems to be the only constant.

The Terra Firma is a Fair Trade, Organic Coffee that originates from Guatemala, Peru and Ethiopia and is grown in the Antigua, Andres and Sidamo regions. It is fully washed, semi-dried, grown at an altitude of 3,500 to 6,500 feet above sea level and features the following flavour characteristics:

Aroma: Subtle roast profile with dark chocolate notes and toasted almonds

Acidity + Body: Both Good

Flavour: Clean and rich with strong notes of dark chocolate and toasted almonds with a subtle hint of sweet dark cherries to finish.

So this November, when you need a change of pace and something comforting to start your morning right, stop by anyone of our locations and grab a fresh cup of Terra Firma. It’s bound to start your day on the right track.

Coffee as an Art – Our Medium Roast

Like any art form, creativity comes first. There is something magical when a painter chooses just the right colours to create a masterpiece, or when an author plucks just the right words out of the many thousand options. So too, a coffee roaster must select just the right beans to create just the right flavor profile.

Our medium roast coffee is no exception. Our medium roast coffee is made from premium beans from around the world, particularly Kenya, Honduras, Colombia and Costa Rica. We focus on a distinct flavor profile with our medium roast coffee; it has a nutty aroma, with hints of floral notes and subtle sweet tones. All this is possible by only using the finest beans.
