New Coffee Roast at Take Five Café: Java Kayumas Estate

When rain boots, umbrellas, scarves and hats start making appearances, it’s clear Fall is underway in Vancouver. As the rainy season kicks off soon, we thought it was time to introduce a new coffee roast, perfect for curling up with a good book in front of a toasty fire on a crisp fall day.

We would like to introduce the Java Kayumas Estates as the newest feature coffee at Take Five Café. The Java Kayumas is grown in Indonesia, on the Island of Java, which is home to 60 percent of the Indonesian population. Grown between 3,000 and 5,000 feet, this coffee is fully washed and roasted to a full flavour level and features the following characteristics:

Aroma: buttery with notes of caramel and honey

Acidity: mild acidity

Body: good body

Flavour: nice sweetness balanced by a distinct nuttiness (candied walnuts) with a rich, smooth finish and notes of spiced cider.

We suggest grabbing a good book, a white chocolate cranberry biscotti and a nice cup of our Java Kayumas. Sit back, relax, and ‘take five.’

Or if you’d prefer to hang onto Summer a bit longer, we suggest a pour-over Mokha Java for something sweeter with hints of citrus.

And as always, Eat Well + Caffeinate Often.
